Choose a City

In the late 1800's two communities grew up around two tributaries of the Indian River; these communities were called Melbourne (after the previous home in Australia of the City's first treasurer) and Eau Gallie. In 1969 the two communities were (by agreement of the voters merged into the City of Melbourne. However, even to this day the two downtown areas survive and thrive, with their own individual characters. (For that reason we have regarded Eau Gallie as a separate entity within Melbourne, and given it its own "Sub-City" entry in It's A City.)
