Mount Dora is a bit of New England charm right in the middle of Florida's lakes region. This "two light town" has a central village filled with wonderful shops, restaurants and Bed and Breakfasts. The streets are lined with oak trees dripping with moss and the town is perched on the east side of Beautiful Lake Dora. The true secret to Mount Dora's charm lies with the wonderful people that live here; long time residents and transplants are all gracious and friendly. The town has become well known for it's annual art Festival hosted by The Mount Dora Center for the Arts that occurs the first weekend in February. There are also many music venues, a yearly craft fair and bike festival in October, antique shops, and the charming Ice House Theatre. The grounds for the famous Renningers Antiques, which holds seasonal "extravaganzas", is within the city limits.
